Department: Home Care/Hospice – Hospice Center (7413)
- Full Time – 8:00 am – 5:00pm

Supervisor and communication skills are essential. Positive attitude and creativity needed. Skilled critical thinker with excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. Interest in promoting Performance Improvement (PI) and cost effectiveness. Responsible for ensuring staffing needs are met. Coordinating day-to-day and global functions of the unit in line with Memorial’s values and the direction of the units. Leadership experience including staff development and performance review preferred. Willingness to be flexible and dedicated. End of life or Hospice experience preferred. Responsible for the safe delivery of care within the Hospice Care Facility 24/7 including nursing and other staffing, food delivery, medical supplies, budget and other items necessary to meeting facility requirements and regulations. Coordinates wtih the Home Hospice staff/supervisor. Responsible to the Home Care Director.

Job Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Washington required.
2. BS in nursing or related field preferred.
3. Current BLS/HCP card approved by the American Heart Association required.
4. At least 3 years nursing experience required.

• Know and function under the Registered Nurse Job Description.
• Ensure safe and effective quality nursing care & end of life care (MSW, Chaplain etc) on the unit by continually teaching, delegating and evaluating the care given.
• Review, supervise and teach complete and accurate recording of information necessary for meeting the patient’s needs and for legal documentation.
• Actively promote good community relations by serving as a resource person and working with other members of the health care team/organizations.
• Establish open communication and a professional relationship with the Medical Staff, Hospice Home Team, Home Health, Transitions and Inpatient Hospital Nursing Staff.
• Maintain budgetary responsibility for the unit by establishing and maintaining a yearly budget.
• Promote educational opportunities and develop staff leadership roles.
• Accountable for 24 hour staffing requirements of unit. Be perceived as available by staff.
