Meet Our Childbirth Educators: Trinidad Rivera

Trinidad Rivera – My name is Trinidad Rivera.  I’m the mother of Keila, Julian, and Amy.  Being a mother is a very rewarding and challenging experience.  I love it! I also teach 4th grade for the Yakima School District.   I’ve been a childbirth educator for 2 years.  One of my friends informed me that there was a need for a Spanish speaking educator and that I should give it a try because I would be good at it.  I applied and got the job and it has been an amazing experience.  The best part of being an educator is that I get to teach parents how to take care of their new born.  They come to class worried but leave feeling confident and prepared.

Meet Our Childbirth Educators: Lori Gibbons

Lori Gibbons – I began teaching childbirth education here at Memorial about 1 ½ years after my first child was born in 1996.  I felt the experience of childbirth to be such a life changing event and had a calling to become an educator in order to prepare other families about what labor and birth is all about.  I had my second child in 1997 and by the year 2000, I was offered the job as coordinator.  It was a job I couldn’t pass up.   I am certified through the International Childbirth Education Association.  I love working with families during this most important time in their lives.
